Kodiak
is half Alaskan Malamute and half Golden Lab
Kodiak at 7 Weeks Old and
weighing in at 10 lbs.
You're my
friend,
my companion,
Through good times and bad
You are my buddy,
Through happy and sad
Beside me you stand,
Beside me you walk
You're there to listen,
You're there to talk
With happiness, smiles
And with pain and tears
I know you'll be there
Throughout the years!
We
found our puppy while we were on our trip this winter. Our trip was
coming to an end and we were staying with some friends in Idaho just
before heading back to Alaska.
We went to an agriculture show with them in Twin Falls, Id. That
is where I saw the puppy. A family that was selling farm equipment had
two puppies out of a litter of eight there. I fell in love with them at
once. I asked Doug if I could have one of them. He was a bit reluctant
as we had a four day trip back home in the motor home, but I begged and
pleaded and he
finally gave in. Of course he thought the puppy was very cute
also.
I knew he was worried about the trip back home with him but we
were going to be in Idaho for another two weeks, so he let me have the
puppy. I worked hard on training him and he was very smart and caught on
quickly.
Kodiak was wonderful on the trip home with only a few small
accidents, and now that we have been home for almost three weeks,
Kodiak has adjusted very well and Alaska is the perfect place for him.
He loves the snow and this big house to run around in and we are so
happy we have him.
